This mystery cowl is the perfect transitional piece for your wardrobe - a light layer that will add colour and flair to any outfit! If Lisa's mystery wraps have intrigued you, but you’ve been looking for something faster or easier, this is the MKAL for you! This
bandana-style cowl is unlike any you’ve knit before.

It’s full of bite-sized clues filled with stitches that are easy to work, though the unique construction will keep you guessing about what surprises are coming next.

Knit along with the Brighten Up MKAL by joining my Paper Daisy Creations Ravelry group. Right now you will find the ‘Getting Ready’ thread where you can show off your colour choices, see what others have picked, and ask any questions you might have. We are a friendly crowd with an enthusiasm for knitting and beautiful yarn.

The MKAL will officially begin with the first clue release on March 2, 2022, and end on April 13, 2022.

Knitting Supplies:

US 4 (3.5mm) needles, or as required to meet gauge: 40”/100cm circular
(or similar length) AND double-pointed or preferred needles for small circumference knitting (NOTE: scrap yarn or a spare set of needles will also be used for putting stitches on hold)
22 sts and 40 rows = 4”/10cm in garter stitch after blocking
(NOTE: Gauge is not crucial, but it will affect finished dimensions and yardage)
Required: stitch markers (number varies by clue), tapestry needle
Optional: blocking pins and mats

Yarn Requirements:

This design was created to highlight five colors of solid or semi-solid fingering weight gradient yarn.
The colors can also be worked in reverse order if you’d prefer, arranging them from lightest to darkest. Alternatively, colors could be arranged in rainbow order. Here is the amount needed for each color.
