Granny Stacks Hand Spun Chunky Art Yarn 12891

Hand dyed in beautiful spring colours, this Tasmanian Merino wool chunky art yarn with pretty little granny stacks scattered throughout creating an original and unique artisan all hand made yarn.

This yarn is hand dyed and hand spun with lots of love and texture and is beautifully soft and will knit it into a Scarf or neck wrap with some other yarns to really get the best out of it. I knitted a little sample swatch to show how the granny stacks pop up on the surface when knitted, just push them through to the front if the knit into the back.

Suitable for careful weaving, this would really make a wall hanging pop!

These beautiful yarns take a Lot of time to create. First with the dyeing, then the spinning and then the plying stage which involves stopping and locking every single 'stack' in place before and after each one!

Recommended Needle Size

Large needles recommended. Gauge swatch is suggested but not essential. I usually start with needles around the same diameter as the yarn and work from there.

Care Instructions

Hand wash as a delicate item in cool water with an approved wool wash. Roll in a towel and very gently spin. Dry flat.
